Solo Exhibition: "Drawing Without an Eraser" at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre wrapped up
January 8. Thanks to the staff at the Centre for help setting up and to all those who took the time
to see the show. I appreciate all the support from friends and family who made it possible.
And many thanks to all those who purchased works.
This series of drawings evolved out of an interest in exploring drawings that could capture the character of an animal. Conté is an artist medium that dates back to 1795. It was invented by Nicolas-Jacques Conté, from a mixture of clay and graphite. I was interested in using Conté to produce a high contrast graphic appearance but was particularly interested in the negative effect of white marks on black paper.
